Caitlin Miller celebrates ten years at Collective Measures
Caitlin Miller began her career at Collective Measures ten years ago as a Senior Account Manager. In 2023, Caitlin transitioned from the account management team to the role of Director of Resource Management. This move was a natural progression after nine years of dedicated service in account management at the agency. In her current role, Caitlin oversees and leads resource forecasting, allocation, and optimization across the agency, including identifying hiring needs.
To celebrate the last ten years with Caitlin, we sat down to reminisce about her tenure at Collective Measures.
Q: What made you decide to apply to Collective Measures ten years ago?
A: I was on maternity leave with my daughter, Cece, at another agency when I got a Facebook message from Nina Hale, at the time the CEO and owner of the agency. It said, “Hi Caitlin, we’re sitting in a meeting at work and everyone is saying that you should come work for us. We have a number of openings right now and would love to speak with you. Sorry about the FB creep, I find it sometimes better than LinkedIn. Cheers – Nina”. Funny enough, it was this DM that changed my career trajectory in the best way. I jumped at the chance to apply, especially because I already knew a few other former colleagues who worked there with nothing but great things to say!
Q: Tell us about your first day.
A: I was nervous when I got to the office because, at that time, there was not a main entrance. I knocked at the door a few times before someone finally let me in. Everyone was very welcoming and I immediately felt the good vibes. A lot has changed since that first day at the smaller downtown Minneapolis office with only around 35 employees, but the good vibes have always stayed the same.
Q: How has the agency’s resource management, or our approach to it, changed over the years?
A: When I took over resource management in 2023, the agency already had solid processes and tools to track allocations and forecast capacity. Looking ahead, I envision our process evolving to include more strategic planning: aligning our talent with organizational goals, assessing skill sets and growth opportunities versus just who has the capacity, and enhancing our forecasting methods to allow for proactive staffing and to maintain retention. With AI being a hot topic, it will be exciting to explore how AI-driven analytics can provide suggestions for resource optimization and utilization in the future.
Q: What is your greatest achievement during your time at Collective Measures?
A: This is a tough one because so many great things have happened at CM over the past ten years. I take pride in having contributed to our clients’ satisfaction, growth, and retention while I was part of the account team. Now, as the Director of Resource Management, I am excited to combine my knowledge of CM’s capabilities, our client partnerships, our talented team, relationship building, various communication styles, and my love for problem solving. Wearing many hats each week keeps me energized and challenged. My job really is a combination of operations, HR, project management, and therapy, and I have truly enjoyed crafting recommendations to ensure the right people with the right skills are assigned to the right projects at the right time.
Q: What do you envision the next ten years at Collective Measures looking like?
A: The past ten years have seen tremendous growth at CM, making the sky truly the limit for our future. We have some of the brightest minds in the industry working here. As employee-owners, I trust that we will uphold our values and continue to drive growth and impact for both the agency and our clients.
Thank you, Caitlin! We are honored to have you as a pillar of our collective.
